Leveraged ETFs, ETNs and time decay and...

Mr. Turd explains one of the dangers of holding an ETF overnight. It kind of helps me understand how VXX sucked royally this morning. Sort of.

Bottom line is, I won't be holding inverse ETNs or ETFs overnight any more unless the Romulans and Klingons have conspired to take over Parliament and the White House. Intraday on a fugly day in the market is fine. Just no overnighters.

That's right, no marrying stocks, and with short ETNs, not even a one-night stand.
