Hoku Scientific still stretching nicely

Hoku Scientific plans solar power plants

In its lifetime, the Campbell-Hoku system is estimated to produce enough electricity to power approximately 6,700 homes for one year and eliminate 38,161 tons of carbon dioxide while saving 120,000 barrels of oil over 25 years.

Oil dependence is painfully strong in the islands, but Hoku doesn't plan to reduce prices. A win for Hoku shareholders.

Hoku is going to see stiff competition from Nanosolar who can crank-out panels at cheaper prices that beat the price of coal by producing 1 watt of power for about $0.30. Yep, 30 cents. Short Hoku.
