Brew Review: Keoki Sunset

Keoki Sunset (Kauai, HI)
Appearance (0 to 4 stars): 4. Caramel tint.
Aroma: 3.5. Rich, but saucy.
Flavor: 3. Overwhelming. Looks British, tastes American.
Texture: 3. Overly carbonated. Gets worse with the following sips, but still likeable.
Drinkability: 3. Good for a dammn hot day.

Overall score: 16.5. A good beer, I'm just picky.
Cost: $5 (big bottle, 1 pint 6 oz.)
On the label: Keoki Brewing Company, Lihue, HI. ... Keoki Sunset: A mahogany color hints at its subtle balance of delicious flavors. A slightly roasted malt taste, fresh hop flavor and aroma gives this beer a bittersweet chocolate complexity with a velvet-like body.

Summary: A lot of hype. I cut 'em some slack since they're locally brewed, which ain't easy in a hot climate.
