Google's Chinese name harvests resistance

Google is king of search most everywhere. Everywhere but China.

See, in China, Google is not king, let alone emperor or chairman. That's why, the preposterous act of changing its Chinese name to Guge has been met by resistance ... by a Beijing company named Guge!

It's not a matter of money, according to China Economic Net's website. Pretty intriguing, though, that a major search engine monster like Google didn't know there was already a Guge on planet Earth. So what does Google China do? And why not stick with its globally-recognized original name?

China is proving to be a tough place to invade, as many Western companies have learned. Compromise or else.
